CAP has issued a document that provides guidelines to Department Chairs for use in assessing the accomplishments of faculty and to aid in the determination of file recommendations. They address common concerns such as acceleration criteria, appraisal criteria, off-cycle actions, etc. This document would also be helpful to ad hoc committees asked to review academic files.
